The International Automobile City Hydrogen Station project is located on a land area of 2832 square metres, approximately 4.25 acres, north of the Jiading District (suburban park) and west of the salt iron pond (01-01) road. The project originated from the relocation of the Shanghai Expo Hydrogen Plant in 2010. On the basis of Jiading District's foundation on the development of a new fuel cell car, the Shanghai municipality decided to move the World Expo Hydrogen Plant to Jiading District.
