Founded in 2004, Sunwise was among China’s early developers of high-pressure hydrogen technology. It has participated in major demonstrations at the Olympic Games, World Expo and Hangzhou Asian Games, and supported hydrogen-powered locomotive deployment in South America. Its project, Research and Application of Key Technologies for High-Pressure Hydrogen Refueling and Storage, received the 2025 Shanghai Science and Technology Progress Award, Second Prize. The project addressed refueling metering accuracy, temperature rise in vehicle hydrogen storage and leak detection, achieving whole-vehicle hydrogen leakage fault diagnosis accuracy above 99.9%. The new innovation center represents an investment of approximately RMB 150 million, with a total floor area of around 20,000 square meters. It combines R&D, manufacturing and settlement functions, uses prefabricated steel structures and rooftop photovoltaics, and is a Shanghai demonstration project for multi-story industrial facilities. It is expected to create approximately 150 additional jobs.
